Fun Dinosaur Facts
• Dinosaurs lived a LONG time ago
Dinosaurs lived over 65 million years ago—way before people, cars, or even houses existed!
• Not all dinosaurs were scary
Some dinosaurs were tiny and gentle, about the size of a chicken
• The biggest dinosaur was HUGE
The Argentinosaurus could grow as long as 2 school buses and weigh more than 10 elephants combined!
• T. rex had tiny arms
Even though T. rex was one of the fiercest dinosaurs, its arms were super short—about the size of a human’s!
• Some dinosaurs had feathers
Yep! Some dinosaurs were covered in feathers, kind of like modern birds. Birds are actually related to dinosaurs!
• Dinosaurs laid eggs
Just like birds and reptiles today, dinosaurs laid eggs—and some even protected their nests like good dino parents
• Not all dinosaurs ate meat
Some were meat-eaters, some were plant-eaters, and some ate both!
• Fossils are like dinosaur clues
Scientists learn about dinosaurs by finding fossils—bones, teeth, and even footprints left behind in rocks.
• Dinosaurs came in all shapes & sizes
From tiny dinos the size of a cat to massive giants taller than a building—dinosaurs were super diverse!
• The word “dinosaur” means “terrible lizard”
But don’t worry—most dinosaurs weren’t actually “terrible” at all
